An important update for PT1 users

This is an important update for current users of the Coag-Sense® PT1 PT/INR Meter. We will implement a change to our test strips effective October 31, 2023. As a result, you will need to upgrade to the Coag-Sense® PT2 PT/INR Meter before November 1, 2023.

If your meter looks like this, a very significant change will occur in our test strip production process. As of November 1, 2023, we will no longer provide patient or control test strips with an identification barcode label on each individual strip. While these identification barcode labels are required to operate the PT1 Meter, they are NOT required to use the Coag-Sense® PT2 PT/INR Monitoring System. For this newer device, these labels have been replaced with an NFC Tag scanner that automatically reads the relevant lot information from an NFC Tag included in the test strip kit. See the illustrations below.

Time to upgrade to the PT2 Meter

We can no longer support the PT1 PT/INR Meter and encourage current users of the PT1 Meter to contact their preferred distributor or provider for an upgrade to the PT2 Meter before November 1, 2023. This will help to avoid any issues with test or control strips.

For Individual self-testers, please contact your provider for assistance. If you require additional help, you can click here to learn how to get a meter or call tech support at 866-903-0890.
